NDLEA Seizes Colorado Shipments from UK, Arrests Suspects

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted multiple shipments of synthetic cannabis, commonly referred to as Colorado, arriving from the United Kingdom. The agency's operations, detailed in a statement by Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy, resulted in the recovery of over 2.3 tons of assorted illicit drugs and the arrest of several suspects across various states, including Lagos, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Kaduna, Plateau, Bayelsa, and Kano.

Notably, two consignments containing Colorado were intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos. One consignment included 27 parcels weighing 32.20 kg.

A follow-up operation led to the arrest of 44-year-old Nurudeen Abiodun Kadiri, who was allegedly expecting another shipment of 12.25 kg of Colorado, reportedly sent by his brother in the UK. The NDLEA has a history of intercepting drugs concealed in unusual items, with a significant seizure value exceeding N6.2 billion.
