NDLEA Seizes Over 2.3 Tonnes of Colorado from UK

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted two shipments of synthetic cannabis, known as Colorado or “Colos,” from the United Kingdom, recovering over 2.3 tonnes of assorted illicit drugs in operations across Lagos, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Kaduna, Plateau, Bayelsa, and Kano States. At the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, operatives seized a UK-bound consignment containing 27 parcels of Colorado weighing 32.20kg.

A real estate agent, Abideen Jide Salami, was arrested on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, while attempting to collect the luggage using a secret code sent by his brother in the UK. In a related operation, Nurudeen Abiodun Kadiri, 44, was arrested after 12.25kg of Colorado was recovered.

Additional arrests included Ifeanyi Obed Augustine and Obasi Ugochuckwu, who were apprehended at Maza Maza motor park while transporting Colorado concealed in music speakers. Further operations in Delta State led to the seizure of various drugs, including pentazocine, codeine syrup, tramadol, diazepam, flunitrazepam, and MDMA, with two suspects arrested.
