NDLEA Intercepts UK Cannabis Shipments, Arrests Suspects

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted two shipments of synthetic cannabis, known as Colorado, from the United Kingdom, concealed in cargoes. On 9 September 2026, operatives arrested Abideen Jide Salami at Lagos International Airport while attempting to collect 27 parcels of Colorado weighing 32.20kg.

A follow-up operation led to the arrest of Nurudeen Abiodun Kadiri, who received another consignment weighing 12.25kg. In Lagos, NDLEA operatives intercepted a music speaker containing Colorado at Maza Maza motor park, arresting Ifeanyi Obed Augustine and Obasi Ugochuckwu.

Additionally, Ifeanyi Nwokolo Henry was arrested at Iddo Park while trying to dispatch 2.1kg of Colorado to Kano. In Kano, Saidu Adamu was apprehended with 785,000 capsules of Pregabalin.

A stop-and-search operation revealed 1,700 tablets of diazepam concealed in loaves of bread. The NDLEA also destroyed 4,832.56 kilograms of cannabis in Edo State and made further arrests in Delta State.
