NDLEA Arrests 78-Year-Old Drug Trafficker in Abia

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two octogenarians in separate operations in Abia and Ekiti states. Pa John Ofiel, 78, was apprehended on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, during a raid at Samek Powerline in Aba, where 700 grams of skunk cannabis were recovered.

Ofiel, a former shoemaker, was found to be involved in the illicit drug trade. Ogunjobi Samuel, 83, was arrested on Thursday, April 30, at his residence in Ilupeju, Ekiti, with 350 grams of a psychoactive substance.

Other arrests included Taofik Adeyemi and Mustapha Oyerind in Ibadan, and Oladayo Awoyemi, who was found with 7 kg of skunk. The NDLEA continues its nationwide campaign against drug abuse and trafficking.
