NDLEA Dismantles Meth Lab in Imo, Arrests Drug Baron

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory located in Isiozi Obiato, Umuaka, within the Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State. The operation, which took place on February 25, 2026, resulted in the arrest of a wanted drug baron.

During this operation, the NDLEA recovered 18.4 kilograms of methamphetamine, along with a significant quantity of precursor chemicals and equipment used to produce illicit substances. Femi Babafemi, the agency's Director of Media and Advocacy, disclosed these details in a statement released on Sunday following the successful dismantling of the laboratory.
