NEPC Denies Strike Threat, Affirms Staff Harmony

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has refuted claims circulating on online platforms regarding a potential strike by its staff. In a statement issued by the Head of Corporate Communications, Aliu Seidu Sadiq, on Monday in Abuja, the NEPC described these reports as false and misleading.

This clarification followed a joint meeting between NEPC management and the leadership of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN). Both parties confirmed their commitment to industrial harmony, urging the public to disregard the strike rumors.

Comrade Moruf Ogunlana, Chairman of the ASCSN NEPC Unit, stated that the union was not consulted about any strike plans and emphasized the peaceful relationship between management and staff. Additionally, the NEPC clarified that no new director appointments had been made and that the current management would focus on internal capacity building.

Under the leadership of Executive Director and CEO Mrs. Ayeni, staff welfare has improved, with over 75% of employees receiving professional training in 2023.
