NEPC Denies Strike Threat, Affirms Staff Management Harmony

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has refuted allegations of a planned strike by its staff, labeling the reports as false and misleading. This clarification came after a joint meeting between NEPC management and the leadership of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), NEPC Unit, where both parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining industrial harmony.

The statement, issued by Head of Corporate Communications Aliu Seidu Sadiq, urged the public to disregard the strike claims. ASCSN Chairman Comrade Moruf Ogunlana confirmed that the union had not been consulted regarding any strike plans and emphasized the peaceful working relationship with management.

The NEPC also addressed rumors about director appointments, stating that no new appointments had been made and that the existing organizational structure would remain in place. Under the leadership of Executive Director and CEO Mrs.

Ayeni, staff welfare has improved, with over 75% of employees receiving professional training since 2023. The NEPC has also established the Export Skills Acquisition Centre (ESAC) to enhance Nigeria’s non-oil export sector.
