New Zealand Launches 5-Year Pathway Student Visa

New Zealand Immigration has announced the Pathway Student Visa, a new initiative that enables foreign students to remain in New Zealand for up to five years while undertaking up to three consecutive courses under a single visa. This visa is specifically designed for students enrolled with recognized pathway providers in New Zealand.

Successful applicants can transition between courses without needing to leave the country or submit new visa applications, provided they meet the academic entry requirements for each subsequent program. To qualify, applicants must possess a valid study pathway offer from an approved provider, demonstrate financial capability to cover tuition and living expenses, and have full travel insurance.

The visa permits holders to work part-time for up to 25 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays, depending on the course. Additionally, holders can travel in and out of New Zealand until the visa expires.

Paper applications are no longer accepted, and all submissions must be made online.
