NEYGA Blasts Atiku, Obi for Politicizing Insecurity

The Nigerian Ethnic Youth Group (NEYGA) condemned presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for allegedly politicizing the insecurity in Nigeria, which they claim both candidates contributed to during their political careers. NEYGA's spokesperson, Alhaji Ibrahim Dan Musa, expressed disappointment that high-ranking politicians would exploit the distress of abducted schoolchildren for political leverage.

The group referenced recent attacks by gunmen in Oyo and Borno states, where students were abducted, and criticized Obi for blaming President Bola Tinubu's administration for a lack of security. NEYGA reminded both candidates of their responsibilities in governance, particularly regarding security challenges, and suggested that if they had acted decisively in the past, the current insecurity might have been mitigated.

The group also drew parallels with historical events, such as the 9/11 attacks in the U.S., emphasizing the importance of political unity in addressing terrorism and insecurity.
