Niger Police and Youths Unite Against Political Thuggery

On Friday, the Niger State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, held a Police-Youth Dialogue with the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Niger State Chapter, chaired by Amb. Ishaq Abdullahi, in Minna.

This event marked the 2026 International Youth Day and launched the campaign “My Future is Greater than Political Thuggery.” The dialogue addressed concerns from youths regarding security, crime prevention, and electoral peace, and sought police involvement in upcoming NYCN elections. CP Elleman assured the youths of his commitment to mediate with the state government and warned against the use of youths as instruments of violence by politicians.

He also cautioned against digital thuggery, misinformation, and cyberbullying. A significant moment was the decoration of Amb.

Ishaq Abdullahi as the Niger State Police Command Youth Ambassador. Additionally, a walkathon is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, to further promote awareness against political thuggery and encourage peaceful democratic participation.
