Nasarawa Police Urges Youths to Reject Political Thuggery

On Tuesday, the Nasarawa State Police Command issued a statement urging youths in the state to refrain from engaging in political thuggery and to resist being used by politicians for violent purposes. Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Shetima Jauro, emphasized the importance of responsible participation in democratic processes and warned against violence, intimidation, and property destruction.

The statement, released by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, also called on parents and guardians to counsel their children against actions that could disrupt peace and security. Furthermore, the police urged religious leaders to promote messages of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

Political office seekers and parties were advised to notify the police of any political gatherings in advance to ensure adequate security arrangements. The police warned that individuals causing mayhem or threatening public safety under the guise of political loyalty would face legal consequences.
