Nigeria Immigration Extends UK Passport Services to 2026

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an extension of its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom from September 19 to October 3, 2026, following a significant turnout of Nigerians seeking passport services. The announcement was made in a statement by DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, the Public Relations Officer of the NIS.

Within the first four days of the exercise, 1,477 Nigerians were successfully processed and enrolled, with more than half already receiving their passports. The extension was approved under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to accommodate the increasing demand for passport services.

Eligible applicants are required to book appointments through the High Commission's website and present necessary documents at their appointments. The NIS confirmed that passport fees remain unchanged at $162 for a five-year passport and $242 for a ten-year passport, and no additional charges will be incurred due to the extension.
