Sowore Urges Nigeria to Embrace AI and Tech Revolution

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2023 general election, has called for Nigeria to urgently embrace the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He warned that the country cannot afford to miss another wave of global technological transformation.

Sowore stated that the Fourth Industrial Revolution involves the convergence of digital, biological, and physical technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain. He criticized Nigeria's historical inability to capitalize on previous industrial revolutions, attributing this failure to decades of poor leadership, weak governance, and insufficient investment in education and technology.

Sowore has consistently advocated for governance reforms, youth empowerment, and increased investment in education and science, arguing these sectors are vital for Nigeria's long-term economic growth. He emphasized that the ongoing technological revolution presents Nigeria with an opportunity to reposition its economy and accelerate development, highlighting the transformative impact of previous industrial revolutions on economies and societies.
