Kingslei Jame Awodi Elected New President of Para Powerlifting

Kingslei Jame Awodi has been elected unopposed as the new President of the Para Powerlifting Federation of Nigeria during a congress held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. He received 12 votes, reflecting the trust and confidence of the delegates present.

Awodi, described as a young and eloquent entrepreneur with a strong track record in financial and moral support for the national team, will serve a four-year term. His deputy, Mr.

Patrick Akukek, was also elected unopposed as Vice President. Awodi expressed gratitude to the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC) and emphasized his commitment to inclusivity and innovation in leadership.

He plans to focus on youth development, athlete welfare, and bridging the gap between aging athletes and fresh talent through grassroots programs and training centers. Awodi aims to attract private sector partnerships to improve funding for athletes, ensuring Nigeria's para powerlifting team achieves greater success on the global stage.
