NSC Appoints Hon. Lekan Fatodu as Aquatics Federation President

The National Sports Commission (NSC) appointed Hon. Lekan Fatodu as the new President of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation on Friday.

The announcement was made by the Director General of the NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade, who explained that this strategic decision aligns with the ongoing structural reforms aimed at repositioning national sports federations.

Fatodu, who currently serves as the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), will play a critical role during this transitional period for aquatics in Nigeria. Stakeholders have expressed the need for improved pathways for grassroots talent and technical upgrades to enhance global competitiveness.

Olopade reaffirmed the NSC's long-term commitment to ensuring that sports bodies are capable of driving sustainable growth and delivering measurable results on the international stage. Fatodu described his new role as an honor and a call to national service, promising to replicate the successes of sub-national sports administration at the federation level.
