Lekan Fatodu Appointed President of Nigeria Aquatics Federation

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has appointed Lekan Fatodu as the new president of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation. This announcement was made by the Director General of the NSC, Bukola Olopade, as part of ongoing efforts to reposition sports federations with capable leadership.

Fatodu's role will involve overseeing the growth and development of swimming, diving, water polo, and artistic swimming disciplines throughout Nigeria. His appointment follows Lagos State's historic ninth-place finish at the National Youth Games in Asaba last year, where young swimmers from the state excelled.

Fatodu described his new position as an opportunity to serve and contribute to advancing critical segments of Nigerian sports. He aims to build a stronger structure for aquatic sports development nationwide, focusing on early talent identification, enhancing coaching techniques, and improving competitive opportunities for Nigerian athletes on both continental and global stages.
