Nigeria's NTDA and China Tourism Academy Forge New Partnership

Ola Awakan, the Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), met with Dai Bin, the President of the China Tourism Academy, in Beijing to strengthen Nigeria's tourism development and promote strategic cooperation with China. The meeting focused on enhancing Nigeria-China tourism relations, particularly in developing the Chinese tourism market for Nigeria.

Awakan proposed a structured China-Nigeria Tourism Market Development Programme to better understand Chinese outbound tourism patterns and tailor tourism products for the Chinese market. He emphasized the need for technical cooperation in areas such as destination development and tourism data.

Awakan reiterated President Bola Tinubu's interest in diversifying Nigeria's economy through tourism. Dai Bin praised Awakan's initiatives and highlighted Nigeria's rich cultural and historical tourism resources.

He stressed the importance of improving Nigeria's image among Chinese travelers and expressed the Academy's commitment to establishing a Nigerian International Tourism Promotion Centre in China to facilitate tourism exchanges.
