Nigerian Universities Use Ribara to Enhance Graduate Employability

Ribara, a digital employment platform, has been introduced across several Nigerian universities, including Coven University, Landmark University, Mountain Top University, and Palm University, to track skills formation and improve graduate employability. The initiative comes at a time when graduates significantly outnumber formal job openings in Africa.

Ribara's design focuses on measuring and strengthening student readiness for the labor market by mapping university courses against 80,000 structured job roles. Dr.

Ada Peter, a co-founder of Ribara and a faculty member at Coven University, emphasized the platform's core value of aligning curricula with industry needs. The platform aims to connect universities with labor market demands, utilizing artificial intelligence to identify skill gaps and inform curriculum updates.

Ribara collaborates with professional bodies, including the Association of Professional Women Engineers in Nigeria (APWEN), to ensure academic training meets industry expectations. This initiative reflects a broader structural tension in higher education regarding employability and the evolving job market.
