APM Endorses Makinde as Alternative to Tinubu for 2027

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has positioned its presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, as a viable alternative to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Abubakar Yusuf, APM’s National Publicity Secretary, stated that the party's cross-party discussions are proving effective in forming a strong opposition alliance.

He noted that thousands of members from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State recently gathered in Ado-Ekiti to reaffirm their support for Makinde while maintaining their PDP identity. Yusuf emphasized that Makinde's performance as Governor of Oyo State has garnered national acceptance, particularly among the youth, and that the APM is committed to winning the upcoming elections.

He also mentioned that the party is focused on democratic values, accountable governance, and sustainable development, with increasing support from Nigerians across the country.
