NIS Extends Passport Services for Nigerians in UK

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an extension of its Special Passport Intervention exercise for Nigerians living in the United Kingdom until November 27, 2026. This extension applies to designated centres in London and Manchester.
Additionally, passport services in Aberdeen and Cardiff will be available from November 3 to 6, 2026. DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, the NIS Public Relations Officer, made this announcement in a statement to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.
The decision to extend the exercise was made in response to the ongoing demand for passport services and aims to accommodate more Nigerians seeking to obtain or renew their passports. This latest extension follows a previous one that had already extended the exercise from October 3 to October 30, 2026.
Akinlabi confirmed that the extension was approved under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and reiterated the NIS's commitment to providing efficient and responsive passport services to Nigerians both domestically and abroad.
