NiMet Launches Anti-Corruption Unit to Boost Integrity

On Tuesday, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) inaugurated its Anti-Corruption Transparency Unit (ACTU) in Abuja, reaffirming its commitment to promoting integrity and accountability across the agency. The event was led by the Director General and CEO, Prof. Charles Anosike, who described the inauguration as a critical step in strengthening institutional mechanisms against corruption.

This initiative aligns with NiMet's newly unveiled strategic plan for 2026-2030, which anchors on core values of integrity and professionalism. The ACTU will expand from five to eight members to enhance inclusivity and effectiveness in combating corruption.

Prof. Anosike urged staff to embrace ethical conduct as a core part of the agency's culture. He concluded the ceremony by assuring full management support for the ACTU and reaffirming NiMet's commitment to transparency in national development.

Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, Chairman of the ICPC, commended NiMet's management for facilitating the inauguration and encouraged stronger collaboration between the two organizations to enhance credible accountability.
