FG Approves New Salary Structure for NiMet Staff

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved a new consolidated salary structure for the staff of the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet). This decision was formalized in a letter dated April 29, 2026, signed by Dr.

Ibrahim Abubakar Kana on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The new salary structure is set to take effect on June 1, 2026.

This approval follows an earlier request made to the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, as indicated in a letter dated March 23, 2026. The implementation of this new pay arrangement will commence in June 2026, marking a significant development for NiMet staff.
