NLNG and NCDMB Launch Research Centre at Rivers University

On Thursday, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) unveiled plans for a Research and Innovation Centre for Computer and Electrical Engineering at Rivers State University in Port Harcourt. This initiative is designed to enhance the university's capacity for advanced, industry-relevant research and specialized training in computer and electrical engineering, particularly for Nigeria's energy and industrial sectors.

A professorial chair will be established to function as a fully operational research and development centre, promoting industry-focused research and addressing operational challenges for NLNG. The NLNG Managing Director/CEO, Adeleye Falade, represented by General Manager Sophia Horsfall, emphasized the project's strategic importance for Nigeria's future and human capital development.

NCDMB Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, represented by Director Engr.

Abayomi Bamidele, described the event as a milestone in the board's Human Capital Development objectives, aiming to foster partnerships with educational institutions. The Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, Prof.

Isaac Zeb-Obipi, also spoke on the project's significance.
