NNPC Deploys Over 1,000 Young Professionals

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has successfully deployed over 1,000 young professionals into its workforce after a comprehensive one-year internship, intensive training, and evaluation program. Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, announced this milestone via social media, highlighting the rigorous selection process that included internships and performance assessments.

Ojulari stated that the recruitment reflects the company's commitment to merit-based employment, emphasizing that success is based on individual capability rather than personal connections. He noted that while the offer letters allowed entry into the organization, the employees' performance during the internship secured their permanent positions.

Ojulari encouraged the new hires to actively participate in the company’s growth and to remember the process that led to their deployment, urging them to create opportunities for others in the future. This deployment aligns with NNPC's ongoing efforts to enhance its workforce and build capacity following its transition into a commercially oriented national energy company under the Petroleum Industry Act.

The decision to employ new workers was initially announced in July 2024 under the previous GCEO, Mele Kyari.
