NNPP Chooses Consensus Method for 2027 Elections

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has decided to adopt a consensus method for selecting its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections instead of a primary election. This decision was announced by Boniface Aniebonam, the party's founder and chairman of the board of trustees, in a statement released in Lagos.

The aim is to avoid internal contests that often hinder capable candidates from emerging. The party intends to focus on selecting individuals with strong support and performance rather than relying on money-driven competition.

Additionally, the NNPP will encourage Nigerian citizens who believe in the party's vision to participate in the electoral process. Women will receive special consideration, with no nomination fees beyond basic administrative charges.

Returning members who were previously expelled will be allowed to rejoin the party after proper screening. The current leadership, led by Agbo Major, is committed to managing the party's activities in accordance with existing court judgments and internal regulations.
