NDC Spokesman Denies Infighting Over Campaign Council

Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the spokesman for the Kwankwasiyya Movement, asserted in a telephone interview with PUNCH Online that there is no infighting within the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) concerning the formation of a campaign council for the 2027 elections. He emphasized that the presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the vice presidential candidate, Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso, and other stakeholders are collaboratively working to establish a credible campaign council.

Mohammed dismissed rumors of a crisis within the party, stating, “As far as we know, there is no problem whatsoever within the party.” He clarified that the recent establishment of a reconciliation committee was not due to internal disputes but aimed at integrating contestants who lost in the primary elections. Additionally, he mentioned that the party is working to coordinate various groups and individuals interested in participating in the campaign through a central directorate.
