ADC Kaduna Leadership Asserts Control Amid Coalition Threats

Hon. Ahm Tijjani Mustapha, the chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, stated that no coalition can hijack the party's structure.

During a press conference, he insisted that the ADC's legal constitution and executive remain recognized. Mustapha highlighted the need to resist any attempts to undermine the party's constitutional internal democratic processes.

He referred to a coalition initiated by Dr. Salihu Lukman aimed at uniting various political interests for the 2027 general elections.

However, he noted that some coalition leaders had abandoned the agreement, attempting to control the party's structure. Mustapha urged ADC members to reject actions that could undermine the party's integrity, which has been built since its inception in 2006.

He reaffirmed the legitimacy of the current leadership following a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on May 30, 2026, which approved a 12-month extension of the tenure for the national work committee. Mustapha called for unity within the party rather than engaging in leadership disputes.
