Rangers International Selects Abeokuta for Home Ground

Rangers International, the Nigeria Premier Football League champions, have selected the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta as their temporary home ground. This decision is attributed to ongoing renovations at their stadium in Enugu.

The Flying Antelopes will commence their title defense at this venue against Katsina United on Sunday. Additionally, this move allows the team to acclimatize to the turf ahead of their CAF Champions League preliminary-round match against AS Sobemap from Benin Republic in September.

Initially, Rangers had an agreement with Remo Stars to utilize their stadium in Ikenne for the CAF Champions League campaign. However, after discussions with the technical crew led by head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, the club opted for the MKO Abiola Sports Arena.

Rangers secured their ninth NPFL title in May by defeating Ikorodu City 2-1 in Lagos on the final day of the 2025/26 season.
