NSE Ibadan Urges Young Engineers to Innovate and Lead

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Ibadan Branch, led by Chairman Ayokunnu Ojedele, called on young engineers to embrace innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship to address Nigeria’s infrastructure challenges during a press briefing on Monday, 17th, for the 2026 Young Engineers Programme. The theme of the event was “Empowering Young Engineers for Innovation, Leadership and Sustainable Development.” Ojedele highlighted the importance of young engineers in the future of engineering in Nigeria, stressing the need for continuous skill enhancement due to advancements in technology such as Artificial Intelligence and renewable energy.

He encouraged young engineers to transition from job seekers to job creators and leaders. The event featured speakers including Engr. Professor Abdulwasiu Ajagbe, Dr. Saheed Akolade, and Engineer Adekunle Adejumo, who discussed various topics related to engineering leadership and innovation.

Ojedele also appealed for support in constructing a new NSE Ibadan Secretariat Complex to facilitate engineering training and collaboration.
