NUC Approves 12 New Programs for Sa’adu Zungur University

The National Universities Commission (NUC) approved 12 new undergraduate and postgraduate programs for Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) in Bauchi, as conveyed in a letter dated June 15, 2026. The programs, which will commence in the 2026/2027 academic session, include undergraduate degrees in Arabic, Hausa, Islamic Studies, Sharia, Social Work, Agricultural Science Education, Human Kinetics Education, and Health Education.

Postgraduate offerings include a Master’s in Educational Management, Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Postgraduate Diploma in Law, PhD in Law, and PhD in Sociology. Vice Chancellor Professor Fatimah Tahir noted that the approval reflects the university's commitment to academic quality and compliance with regulatory standards.

She acknowledged the support from the Bauchi State government, particularly from Senator Bala Abdulkadir Moham, in fostering an enabling environment for the university's growth. Tahir assured stakeholders of the university's dedication to providing the necessary resources for effective implementation of the new programs.
