NUC Approves 12 New Programs for Sa’adu Zungur University

The National Universities Commission (NUC) approved 12 new undergraduate and postgraduate programs for Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) in Bauchi State, as conveyed in a letter dated June 15, 2026. The approval follows a comprehensive resource assessment to ensure the university's preparedness in terms of academic personnel, physical infrastructure, library, and laboratory facilities necessary for the successful delivery of the proposed programs.

The new undergraduate programs include B.Ed. in Arabic, Hausa, Islamic Studies, Sharia, B.Sc. in Social Work, Agricultural Science Education, Human Kinetics Education, and Health Education. The postgraduate programs include M.Ed. in Educational Management, Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), LL.M, Ph.D. in Law, and Ph.D. in Sociology.

Vice Chancellor Professor Fatimah Tahir highlighted the approval as a testament to the university's commitment to academic quality and growth, thanking the NUC and Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Moham for their support in advancing higher education in the state.
