NUJ and Jargreen Launch Free Medical Outreach for VON Staff

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and Jargreen are collaborating to launch a free medical outreach for staff of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) scheduled from August 3 to 7, 2026. This initiative will provide essential medical services, including blood pressure and blood glucose screening, malaria testing, eye examinations, deworming, and health education.

The outreach aims to encourage early detection of health conditions and promote healthy living among journalists, who often face demanding schedules that limit their access to routine medical care. Organizers stress the importance of preventive healthcare in managing serious health conditions effectively when detected early.

Staff are encouraged to participate regardless of their current health status, as many conditions may develop without noticeable symptoms. The program also serves as a platform for journalists to advocate for preventive healthcare while enhancing their productivity and service delivery.
