NUJ Encourages Digital Innovation Among TV Cameramen

At an inauguration ceremony in Abuja, the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) urged television cameramen to embrace digital innovation. Ike congratulated the new leadership of SOPTCAM on its election, highlighting the importance of combining technical skills with ethical journalism and digital proficiency.

She expressed the NUJ's commitment to partnering with SOPTCAM to enhance professional standards and support members' skill development. Ike encouraged continuous learning in emerging technologies and multimedia storytelling.

The newly elected Chairman of SOPTCAM FCT, Mr. Ekundayo Femi, described the event as historic, marking the first democratically elected executive committee in the Federal Capital Territory. Femi expressed gratitude to the national leadership and the Electoral Committee for a transparent election.

He presented a six-point agenda focused on professional development, members' welfare, ethical conduct, institutional unity, transparency, and increased visibility. Comrade Olugbenga Adejuwon, the National Chairman of SOPTCAM, urged members to build strong personal brands and improve their creative skills to remain competitive.
