NYSC DG Urges Data Integrity from Corps Institutions

At the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Mobilisation Workshop in Abuja, Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), cautioned corps producing institutions against undermining the scheme's credibility by failing to upload accurate data. He stressed the importance of verifying graduates' data before submission to the NYSC, stating that accountability extends beyond regulatory compliance.

Nafiu identified several challenges affecting the mobilization process, including incorrect personal records, unauthorized data alterations, and delays in processing records. He warned that these issues could disrupt the mobilization calendar and affect national planning.

Nafiu also highlighted the need for institutions to enhance their internal quality assurance mechanisms and noted that while technology would be deployed to improve efficiency and transparency, it could not compensate for poor governance. Mrs. Idaewor Onomhoare, Director of Corps Mobilisation, acknowledged the workshop's role in fostering cooperation among stakeholders involved in the mobilization process.
