Oba-elect Olarind Appeals for Action on Land Dispute

Oba-elect Modiu Oladel Olarind of Ogun Tedo Town has expressed alarm over a persistent land dispute affecting the community, appealing to Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani for urgent intervention. The conflict has reportedly led to unrest, including the alleged unlawful leasing and selling of community land by two sons of the late Oba Babatunde Yekini Olarind without proper approval.

This situation has escalated to violence, with claims of a 20-year-old man being killed by stray bullets linked to thugs involved in the dispute. Olarind has urged security agencies to act swiftly to prevent further escalation and restore peace, citing a gradual deterioration of the situation since the late monarch's burial.

He also mentioned that the younger brother of the late king has allegedly sought to ascend the throne, further complicating the community's peace. The ongoing land dispute has persisted for several years, resulting in significant loss of life and threatening the community's security.
