Idoma Community in London Inaugurates New Executive Council

On February 28, 2026, the Idoma community in London inaugurated its executive council, with Chief Dr. William Oband Obeya serving as president.

The ceremony aimed to reinforce unity and cultural identity among the Idoma diaspora, emphasizing the importance of maintaining connections to their homeland. The council includes Mr.

Catherine Oten as vice president, Godwin Ejeh as general secretary, Chri Diga as financial secretary, Franci Akor as project officer, Helen Joseph as welfare secretary, Matthew Onuh as treasurer, Felicia Bathelomew Igomu as women leader, Jacki Monervil as social media handler, Oliv Igoch as youth leader, and Toni Mari as event officer. Och’Idoma, the paramount ruler of the Idoma kingdom, conveyed greetings from the ancestral throne and highlighted the significance of unity among the Idoma people, regardless of geographical distance.

The next Idoma Day celebration in the United Kingdom is scheduled for August 8, 2026, inviting all Idoma sons and daughters across Europe to celebrate their cultural heritage.
