Taiwo Hassan's Remains Arrive in Ilaro for Burial

The remains of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, were brought to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, for burial after he passed away at the age of 66 on August 23, 2026. His death followed a battle with stage-four cancer, which had deteriorated to a point where chemotherapy was no longer an option.

Prior to his passing, his daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, had publicly sought urgent medical assistance for their father. Upon arrival in Ilaro, Hassan's remains were received by grieving family members, friends, and colleagues, including veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Jide Kosoko, who came to offer their condolences.

Actress Ireti Osayemi was also present for the burial. A lying-in-state ceremony was scheduled to take place at the Pavilion in Ilaro on Monday, ahead of the final burial rites.
