Ogun State Confirms Discharge of Gas Leak Victims

The Ogun State Government has addressed concerns following a gas leak incident at Ladi Apostolic Secondary School in Ijebu Ode, stating that all affected individuals have been discharged from the hospital after receiving medical care. Tomi Coker, the Health Commissioner, confirmed that patients were admitted to the state hospital and other facilities but were found to be in stable condition.

The government deployed ambulance crews to ensure prompt emergency response and established medical protocols for the incident. Coker emphasized that while methane is non-toxic, its mild concentrations can cause symptoms such as fatigue and rapid heartbeat.

No severe cases were reported in the last 24 hours. The Ogun State Government is monitoring air quality around the affected school and has trained teachers and community members in emergency response procedures.

The Commissioner for Education, Abayomi Arigbabu, urged calm among parents and students, assuring that the government prioritizes their safety and well-being.
