Ogun State Discharges Gas Leak Victims, Deploys Teams

The Ogun State Government has discharged individuals affected by a gas leak incident at Ladi Apostolic Secondary School in Ijebu Ode. Tomi Coker, the Commissioner for Health, confirmed that those admitted to the state hospital received medical attention and were certified fit for discharge.

Emergency response teams have been deployed to ensure prompt action in case of further incidents. Coker stated that the government has established medical response protocols for patients requiring advanced care, with transfers to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital as necessary.

The gas leak, attributed to methane emissions, affected both adults and children, but no severe symptoms were reported. Coker urged residents to remain calm and report any suspicious odors to the emergency response line.

The Ogun State Government is prioritizing the welfare and safety of students, with health officials monitoring air quality around schools in the area. Abayomi Arigbabu, the Commissioner for Education, called for cooperation from parents and teachers to manage the situation effectively.
