Ogun Health Association Advocates for Digital Transformation

The Ogun State Association of Health Information Management Professionals has issued a statement advocating for the adoption of digital systems and a new service scheme to improve healthcare delivery in Ogun State. The association, represented by its chairman Obabiyi Rashidat and secretary Kayod Paul, emphasizes the need for the state government to fully integrate electronic medical records and health information systems.

They argue that the current service scheme is outdated and does not reflect the evolving role of health information professionals in a technology-driven healthcare system. The association has called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to urgently review and upgrade the service scheme to enhance workforce motivation and service delivery.

They also stress the importance of investing in modern health information technology to support a full digital transformation of healthcare in Ogun State. The statement coincides with the upcoming Health Information Professionals Week, which will be celebrated from April 19 to 24, 2026, highlighting the critical role of health information management in improving patient outcomes.
