Okin Biscuits Factory Nears Completion with LPG Tank Installed

The Okin Biscuits factory located in Offa, Kwara, has reached a 90% completion stage in its resuscitation process, which began after the factory shut down production approximately 17 years ago. Mr. Kunmi Alalade, overseeing the resuscitation, reported significant physical and structural progress during an interview at the factory site in Ijagbo.

A notable development includes the installation of a 30-ton Liquefied Petroleum Gas tank, which will power the factory's ovens, complementing the reconnected electricity supply. The resuscitation is being led by the children of the late founder and chairman, Chief Emmanuel Adesoye, with no formal management team currently in place.

Some former skilled workers have been engaged to assist in the process. Alalade stated that the factory is compliant with all necessary government registrations and is prepared to begin full operations.

He urged the Kwara State government to provide support, including tax breaks, to enhance productivity and sustainability. The factory aims to meet Nigerians' expectations by producing high-quality biscuit brands.
