Okin Biscuits Resumes Production After 17-Year Break

Okin Biscuits has resumed operations on one of its production lines at its factory located in Offa, Kwara State, after a 17-year hiatus. This announcement was made via a post on the company's Facebook page on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

The production line had been inactive due to the theft of essential electronic components, including cables, frequency drives, contactors, and motors. Following the reconstruction of the line, a technical trial run was conducted, during which biscuits were produced.

However, this trial was not intended to assess the final biscuit product's quality, as the focus was on the line's operational capability. The company indicated that additional testing, calibration, and rehabilitation are necessary before the biscuits can be marketed again.

Furthermore, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) connected the factory to a 33kV Band A electricity grid on the same day. Videos shared by the company showcased the production process on the rehabilitated line, but they emphasized that more work is required to ensure the biscuits meet the desired taste and quality standards.
