Ooni of Ife Lauds Governors Okpebholo and Ododo's Humility

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, commended Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as the most humble governors Nigeria has produced. This statement was made during a courtesy visit by Governor Okpebholo to the Ooni's palace in Ile-Ife, as reported by Dr. Patrick Ebojele, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okpebholo.

The Ooni praised both governors for their simplicity, humility, and accessibility, emphasizing their ability to remain connected to ordinary citizens despite their high offices. He referred to them as “Omoluabi par excellence,” linking their leadership style to the Yoruba cultural ideals of good character, integrity, discipline, respect, and responsibility.

The Ooni urged Governor Okpebholo to maintain these qualities, asserting that humility and simplicity are essential attributes of effective leadership and recognizing the positive impact both governors have on their constituents.
