JAMB Inaugurates N1bn Mega CBT Centre in Borno

On February 24, 2026, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, the outgoing Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), inaugurated the JAMB Mega Professional Registration Centre (PRC) in Maiduguri, Borno. The facility, valued at N1 billion and donated by the Borno State Government, is built on a 5,300-square-metre land and features a fully fenced and landscaped environment powered by a 300kVA transformer.

It includes eight offices, three conference rooms, four registration areas, and two Computer-Based Test (CBT) halls with 275 computers each, allowing for 500 candidates per session and 2,000 candidates daily during examinations. The project was completed in under six months.

Oloyede praised Governor Zulum for his significant investment in education, which aims to alleviate challenges faced by candidates in the North-East. Governor Zulum reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritizing education, stating that the long-term benefits of the centre far exceed its costs.
