Omoragbon Calls for Unity Among Diaspora Nurses

Pastor Peters Omoragbon, the Executive President of Nurses Across the Borders, called for unity among Nigerian nurses in the diaspora to enhance their visibility in national healthcare discussions. His remarks came during NIDCOM's Diaspora Week, which focused on healthcare professionals and concluded with an audience with the President of Nigeria.

Omoragbon noted the event was predominantly physician-led, questioning the absence of nurses during significant moments, including the presentation of awards to the President. He highlighted the missed opportunity for nurses to showcase their impact and pointed out that diaspora nurses were not initially included in the event's planning until a public call prompted a review.

Omoragbon recalled past efforts to unify nurses, which led to federal government participation in the first NANNNA scientific conference but lamented the collapse of the Nurses Technical Committee due to disunity. He urged diaspora nurses to prioritize collective goals over personal interests to drive transformation in Nigeria's healthcare system.
