Ondo APC Elders Urge Selection of Electable Candidates

On Wednesday in Akure, Demola Ijabiyi, a member of the Ondo APC Elder Forum, called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prioritize the selection of electable candidates for the upcoming 2027 general elections. Ijabiyi highlighted the necessity for candidates to possess the capacity to win polls, stressing that political parties should sponsor individuals who can secure electoral victories.

He expressed concerns regarding the low voter turnout during elections, identifying it as a significant challenge within Nigeria's electoral process. Ijabiyi also mentioned that the APC is working towards securing over one million votes for Bola Tinubu in the next presidential election, asserting that once people vote, they will support the party's candidates.

The forum's appeal comes as the party awaits the release of the final list of candidates for the state assembly primaries.
