Ondo PDP Rejects Claims of Executive Committee Dissolution

The Ondo State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has raised alarms over claims that the state executive committee has been dissolved, describing the purported move as an unconstitutional political coup. During a press conference held at the party's secretariat in Akure on Saturday, State Chairman Dupe Aisida stated that no formal communication has been received from the national body regarding such a dissolution.

Aisida stressed that the state leadership was duly elected and that the recent ward congress, which involved 203 wards in Ondo State, was conducted in accordance with guidelines monitored by relevant authorities, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the police. The claims of dissolution were reportedly circulated on social media, including a letter allegedly written by someone claiming to represent the national public secretary of the party.

Aisida confirmed that the state executive committee remains fully operational and intact.
