Ondo PDP Rejects Claims of Executive Committee Dissolution

The Ondo State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), led by State Chairman David Akur, has dismissed claims regarding the dissolution of its state executive committee. During a press conference held at the party's secretariat in Akure, Akur and Dupe Aisida emphasized that the state leadership is fully operational and that no official communication from the national leadership warranted such an action.

They expressed surprise over a statement circulating on social media, purportedly from a national caretaker committee claiming the dissolution. The party conducted its ward congress on September 13, 2025, across 203 wards, and the local government congress on September 17, 2025, across 18 local government areas, with monitoring by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.

The state congress took place on September 27, 2025, described as peaceful and seamless, with no petitions filed against the outcomes, indicating a transparent process.
