Ekiti PDP Rejects Illegitimate State Congress Claims

The Ekiti State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has officially dismissed a purported state congress that was reportedly held in Ado Ekiti, describing it as an illegitimate and unwarranted exercise. In a release signed by Mr. Kole Olododo from the state secretariat, the party emphasized that the congress lacked the necessary approval from the national executive committee of the PDP, rendering it invalid.

The statement urged all party officials at the local government and ward levels, as well as the general public, to disregard and ignore the congress led by suspended factional leader Ayodele Fayose. The PDP reiterated that no individual, regardless of their past status or position within the party, has the authority to dissolve or replace duly constituted ward and local government executives, which are set to expire.

The party also noted the need to address factionalism within the national executive.
