OPC Disowns Kidnap Suspects Linked to Adelabu Family

The Oodua People's Congress (OPC) has distanced itself from suspects arrested in the kidnapping of Adebayo Adelabu's sister and twin sons. OPC President Wasiu Afolabi, known as Askari, stated that the individuals involved are not members of the organization and emphasized that any criminal actions do not reflect OPC's values.

Afolabi highlighted the organization's long-standing support for law enforcement in combating crime and providing neighborhood security services. He condemned the false claims of affiliation with OPC by the suspects and warned that those engaging in criminal acts would face the full weight of the law.

Afolabi also called for urgent action from security agencies to rescue 39 pupils and seven teachers abducted in Ogbomoso. He reiterated OPC's commitment to assist the government in fighting terrorism and kidnapping, while also stressing the need for local knowledge and manpower to complement state security efforts.
